As Goes Our Love
As goes our love, so thrust our traceless lives; In dark'ning corners ever are we hid Behind truth's bludgeon. Yet, in love's thick groves Ignoring truth is where I ever stood. As runs our love, so names our fruitless grasp At clinging to each other. Once, we knew A love so fast and full. But in its clasp We faltered, casing all that we made true. As ends our love, so lingers all I feel For you, my heartbeat. Should I sour away And seek some shrunken, lesser coarser deal? It seems I've shrunk, now forced to this display. As ever and more ever, so I turn Still back to you whose memory makes me burn.
