Clouds
I stumble to the ground, a cluttered cloud Of nameless nothings, never knowing you Or of your ways that need to claim, too loud To be ignored -- a cloudy, "now, we're through." As clouds of illness cloud your perfect guise, I offered comfort through your painful phase. The threat of capture then escaped your eyes To cloud the meaning of our last few days. Descending clouds now swirl about my heart That aches for you. I see and hear you near In every clouded instant. As we part, My sorrow's storms break, and my sad eyes tear. Your loving, leaving, cuts me like a knife -- I love you, and I'll love you all my life.
