The diaTribe Vault

This is a selection from our archive of sonnets, each written by a member of the diaTribe, and published here on the diaTribe Web by PM Productions.  This is a bold move on the part of our contributing authors, each of whom are publishing their work gratis, each of whom you may contact via an email address following their respective submission.  Support them by telling them what you think - or, at the very least, don't nick their stuff.

Lights

In love with loving, we our loving lost
To red-faced Hippocrene. Our course once shined
'Gainst brittle lights no nights unlit have crossed,
But rushing rude denial, we declined.

So through a thrashing ocean we made way
T'ward ruthless shoals and shards that lay ahead.
'Gainst brittle lights, no nights unlit could stay
Immune to bitter barbs we both had bred.

Still, in a promised future, might we dance
And cling to vows once promised, heart to heart?
'Gainst brittle lights, all nights unlit will chance
To force this love to end, so near the start.

My love, preserve our fragile love-lit room
'Gainst brittle lights, that love might lead us home.
