Paraphrase
Take back the virgin page, unwritten still; Some hand more calm and sage, your leaf must fill. My thoughts of you are light. Dark, you require, As every word I write turns love to fire. I'll keep the book: it might my heart renew When there I look to recall thoughts of you. Like you, it's fair and bright -- too bright and fair To let cold anger write one false thought there. I'll hold your eyes, as from your eyes I roam, Calm thoughts may rise t'ward you, my once, best home. May fate provide eyes worthy of your meet With thoughts that shine, not burn you incomplete. So let the words I pen push storms away From you. My guiding light, within me stay.
