The diaTribe Vault

This is a selection from our archive of sonnets, each written by a member of the diaTribe, and published here on the diaTribe Web by PM Productions.  This is a bold move on the part of our contributing authors, each of whom are publishing their work gratis, each of whom you may contact via an email address following their respective submission.  Support them by telling them what you think - or, at the very least, don't nick their stuff.

Too Much Of Us

"Too much of us" means much too much of me
For you to tryst against society.
A steady stream of int'rests begs your glance,
Which you prefer, instead of our romance.

I stand amazed; you still do not admit
That drinks within us were the cause of it.
The fury that disrupts our fragile love
Grows bolder in each bottle we sip of.

Let's face the truth -- we both saw this approach
To shatter all my dreams of me, your 'coach.'
Though I'd prefer to put this off awhile,
I watch your laugh distaff, but where's my smile?

We both knew you'd leave one day, far too soon,
But "too much us" says you've already gone.
